Projects

Carbon Projects enable GHG emission reductions and/or removal enhancements compared to baseline scenarios where the activities and mechanisms that enable the same do not exist. Renewable Energy Projects and Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFLOU) Projects can be registered as Carbon Projects.

Validation and Verification of your project in accordance with globally accepted standards will ensure:

  • Registration as Carbon Credit Projects to meet voluntary or mandatory requirements
  • Accurate reporting of project emission reductions and removal enhancements
  • Identification of positive environmental impacts in relation to addressing Climate Change
  • Integration of appropriate monitoring procedures and systems for accurate tracking of emission reductions and removal enhancements
  • Increased value addition when integrated with CSR Projects focused on Community Involvement

Plan Vivo Standard

Developed by the Plan Vivo Foundation, Plan Vivo is internationally recognised as the leading Standard for community land-use projects, with the belief that action should be taken to aid communities on the forefront of the climate crisis. This is achieved by applying the “Plan Vivo” concept of:

  • Relieving poverty by offering sustainable livelihoods for communities whose environments have been degraded.
  • Restoring and protecting environments so to help protect communities against climate change and provide a variety of sustainable development benefits.
  • Building local capacity through the transfer of knowledge, skills and resources to developing countries.

Certification under Plan Vivo demonstrates a that a project is sustainable over the long-term, truly benefits people’s livelihoods and provides vital climate and environmental benefits. We are Sri Lanka’s only official VVB authorised to conduct validation and verification in accordance with the Plan Vivo Standard.
