The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) drives ambitious corporate climate action by setting science-based emissions reduction targets. These transparent targets show the magnitude, and the haste companies should act on, to reduce their GHG emissions to prevent the worst effects of climate change. 1000+ companies have set or committed to set targets through SBTi.
The initiative enables “GHG emissions reduction targets that are consistent with the level of decarbonisation that, according to climate science, is required to keep global temperature increase within 1.5C to 2C compared to pre-industrial temperature levels”.
We can help you to understand the concepts behind SBTi criteria, methodologies, and other parameters, and provide step-by-step guidance on setting targets. Companies can commit to align with the 1.5C emissions scenario by focusing on GHG emission reduction targets across all relevant scopes and/or set a public goal to reach net-zero emission by no later than 2050.
